A slender, scrambling vine not exceeding a stem diameter of 2 cm. Leafy stems usually hollow.

Grows in a range of habitats from open forest to vine thicket and monsoon forest, from near sea level to 1100m,
and will thrive in full sun on rocky outcrops.
