Form and Size: Shrub or tree to 30m with weeping branches and foliage.
Distribution: Widespread throughout eastern tropical Queensland and N.T., on
watercourses.
Leaves: Simple, alternate, entire and narrowly elliptic. Five to seven parallel
veins.
Bark: Thickly layered and papery.
Flowers: Spikes to 5cm wide, of yellowish or greenish tinted cream.
Fruit: Woody cup shaped capsules, 0.3-0.5 by 0.3-0.6 cm.
