Form and size: An erect perennial herb growing to 1m
high. It has thick rootstock from which it can regrow annually.
Distribution: A tropical plant of the Top End.
Leaves: Tri-foliate; the leaflets are 5-8 cm long and 2-4 cm
across. Elliptical with a sharp point.
Flowers: Dense clusters of pink and purple flowers occur in
the axils of the upper leaves, and each is 2-3cm across.
Fruit: Pods about 6cm long containing black
seeds.
