Form and Size: A medium tree, 15-25m high, with a thick,
buttressed trunk; it does not have aerial roots.
Distribution: Coastal rainforests of north-eastern Qld.
Leaves: Egg-shaped, base rounded or heart-shaped, dark green,
papery, veins prominent, tip drawn out into a long point, stalk 6-10cm long, 15-25cm x 8-16cm; new growth pale
green.
Bark: Brown, flaky.
Receptacles: More or less pear-shaped, red with white spots,
2-2.5cm long and wide; borne in clusters on the trunk and larger branches.
Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from seed or aerial
layers.
