Form and Size: Bushy shrub to 6m tall.
Distribution: North-eastern Qld. to north-eastern
N.S.W.
Leaves: Dark green, thin-textured, broadly lance-shaped, margins
toothed, 10-22cm x 4-10cm; young shoots hairy.
Flowers: White to yellowish, fragrant, 0.8cm diameter borne
in terminal panicles.
Flowering Period: October to December.
Fruit: Berry; purple, globular, fleshy, 0.6- 0.8cm
diameter.
Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from fresh seed or cuttings. Requires
pruning to maintain a good shape. An ideal companion plant for ferns, requiring similar protected conditions and
abundant water.
